Too much summer fun!!!!!

I feel pretty guilty about not sewing in over a month, but this hot NC weather is totally consuming my time with beach trips, back yard barbeques, and trips to the pool. Every evening when I get home from work, I have somewhere to be, there is just not enough time in the day. We are in the process of finding another place so when we are home, we are packing our things, what fun?

Denim Quilt

I made this quilt from old jeans.A coworker gave me an applique machine so I made some Disney and alphabet appliques. It took me nearly 1 year and about 4 pair of jeans to make this quilt. I used an old curtain as the back and since the denim is so heavy, I didn't use any batting. I used blanket binding I purchased from a thrift store. I am very pleased and it makes me feel really good knowing that EJ enjoys it.I am in the process of cutting up jeans now to start another one but this one, I would like to make for my bed, pics to come!

Latest Project-Feb '09

Pretty ironing board cover. Made one for my brother too, hope he enjoys as much as I do. Pretty quick and easy, I made my own pattern and used scrap fabric, so it did not cost me anything but about 45 minutes time! Can't beat that and I am really pleased with the results!

February Projects

The jacket is denim and silver. It took about 1 week to finish and I am very pleased with how it turned out. The red dress is still a work in progress, I plan to embellish the front and sleeves with maybe some beads or rhinestones. The yellow dress is a dress for Jadayah. I want to add some whimsical buttons, maybe butterflies or bumble bees. I plan to add some rick rack and other notions. These are the few projects I have been working on.

What seamtress do you know that is soooooo organized? Wishful thinking maybe?

Curtains and Tunic

Tunic is a crepe blend in fuschia. Curtains are a decorator cotton and unlined. Both were very easy and made from my scrap stash so I didn't have to spend any money! lol My hubby will be happy to know that :-)
